I am using tab groups and suddenly they all disappeared. There is no hint or trace of this function, not even in the tab pulldown menue. I checked the internet, I restartet Firefox several times, I restarted my notebook (Windows 11), I checked about:config (tab groups are enabled). I even reinstalled firefox - it seems like tab groups never have existed. What might have happend - and how could I get that feature back?

Before I updated to 142.0.1 when I had a tab group and closed it by clicking on it, all the tabs collapsed into the tab group tab and the only thing I could see was the tab group title tab. This was awesome! I started using it immediately and loved it. Since I updated the tab groups still work, but now, sometimes, when I click on the tab group tab to close the group I see the title tab, one of the tabs included in the group, and a "+2" or however many tabs are hidden. This pretty much defeats the whole idea of having the tab groups in the first place, which to me, was to hide ALL THE TABS under ONE tab to clean up my work area.

The image below shows an example. Note the "eBay" tab group is closed, and yet it shows the tab group tab (eBay), a tab in that group (eBay icon and "Order" with the X to close the tab), and then "+2" meaning there are two hidden tabs. In contrast, the "Simple" and "Web Work" tab groups are also closed and contain 4 and 9 tabs respectively, all neatly tucked under the one tag group tab for each group.

Why is this happening only on some tab groups, and only some of the time? How can I stop this from happening?

i use Mozilla at work, in logistics.

When booking shippments we use "nShift". Booking is repetitive, so the autofill function (in swedish its autofyll) is pretty useful, and we have used it extensively...now for some reason it has just disappeared and we cant get back.

See uppploaded imgage, tried to follow the instructions,..... also in my edition there is no subheading caled "Formulär & autofyll", it just says "Autofyll".

So the question is, what to do to get the autofill back.

When using image searches I don't want results from generative ai websites I have looked for a Firefox add on to flitter them out but if it exists I can't find it. Does anyone know of one?

I was logged in to my Firefox account and was syncing with other devices, so I thought I was all set .

I formatted my C drive and reinstalled windows, but logging back into a fresh install of Firefox, none of my extensions showed up. Bookmarks and History, yes. But no extensions.

I've lost them and now I don't even remember what they were. Is there a way to check the history in my account to determine the lost extensions?

I have a rather odd question. I have a website with a background video that autoplays made with Squarespace. The video plays fine in every browser, except maybe 10-20% of the time will only pull up the spinning white wheel with black background but just in Firefox. I have been through all troubleshooting, DRM settings reset, Cache cleared, hardware acceleration turned off, browser up to date - but none of it gives me a permanent solution. The video itself is up to correct spec in Squarespace, does anyone know what I'm missing? Thank you in advance.

When browsing, I sometimes (more often than not) get a Secure Connection Failed message. The Try Again tab clears the problem sometimes (not that often). This problem has just started happening in the last week, during which I have not made changes to any settings in Firefox. This problem does not exist using other search engines for the same site that I am trying to access, and I note that I also get this same failure when trying to access some Firefox webpages. Is there a fix to this other than contacting the web site owner, which I doubt is the cause of the problem, or for ease and simplicity should I just change to another search engine that does not have the problem?

Something or somebody emptied my bookmarks. I tried the import/restore routine but was told that Firefox "was unable to process the backup file." I also tried System Restore without success. Can you help me? I don't want to leave Firefox, but the problem reoccurs, which is maddening and time-wasting. Thanks, Bruce Berckman

A long time ago I was able to set the max number of rows for shortcuts on the Firefox home page to 5. Sometime fairly recently it has changed to 4. I don't know why nor can I remember which line in about;config I used to change it. I think the line was "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRows" but when I try to change it, it does nothing. At the time I first changed it, the max it would change to was 5. The max now appears to be 4 if I did it correctly. Your help would be appreciated.

On Windows 11 laptops, I am currently using an Acer Nitro w/ 12th gen Intel i5 16GB RAM, I use my touch pad for scrolling on sites with infinite scrolling. Occasionally this function breaks, when it does it breaks for every tab in the browser window including the setting, I haven't found a singular or specific cause yet. I have troubleshooted it in the community, the prevailing logic being that themes or extensions are causing some incompatibility, so I have reset everything to defaults and made sure I have no extensions loaded, and the problem persists. I can temporarily fix the issue by going into my settings and turning hardware acceleration on and off again. I am writing this to hopefully point out this bug as clearly as possible in hopes that your programmers can fix it in a future update, as repeatedly turning a setting on and off to "fix" it might not be the best solution in the long term.

tab groups can't get a new groups to actually show up even though they show up in the title bar and does not have the box around the other preexisting tab groupings. am using windows 11 on a desktop. i suppose something got changed somehow, but i have no idea of why this started nor how no fix it. any and all help greatly appreciated! wolfgang
