Why, when I log onto Firefox, does it keep telling me to upgrade when I have upgraded to 9.0.1?

As I said above, whenever I log onto Firefox it tells me to upgrade to 9.01. despite the fact that I have upgraded since my "About Firefox" tells me so.

Are you talking about the bookmarks toolbar? Just CTRL Click in the header next to a tab. This should bring up a menu that lets you add toolbars. You can also go to View > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar to enable it.

You'll only see items in this list if you have bookmarks saved to the bookmarks toolbar. This article will walk you through creating and managing bookmarks.

Hopefully this helps!

Hi jackg,

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.

You should try changing your home page to:

about:home

If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page.

Hopefully this helps

Many thanks for the advice which has worked; but what I've lost is the (& here I have to admit to a failure in using precise computer terminology) menu (in black) below the main menu which used to have gmail & other services listed, whicv permitted me to click immediately onto my gmail. I hope I've made myself clear. and your further help would be appreciated. jackg
