http://www.google.co.uk search page problem
Usually the search is in the center of the screen. When I select my bookmark http://www.google.co.uk the page opens with search in the middle of the screen, but I cannot type in it. If I just start typing any letter, the page changes and the google search moves to the top of the page and the address bar now reads: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&cp=1&gs_id=c&xhr=t&q=facebook&pf=p&sclient=psy&site=&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=f&aq=0&aqi=g5&aql=&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=e66c6e0adf04fb7&biw=1143&bih=696
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm using Firefox 5.0.1 ; OS is Vista and this weirdness started today 28th July 2011. Any ideas on how to fix this. Please note I'm not talking about google toolbar.

Turn off "Google Instant Search" in the search settings (Gear wheel upper right corner), don't forget to press Save or you have to do it over again.
I'd never noticed it because I turned off Google instant a while back as it definitely interferes with what I do. I have a good idea of what I want, and I want 100 hits, I seldom find what I want in the first 10 hits anyway, and am often challenged by the Google robot to prove that I'm not a robot because of complicated search patterns. Was easy to test because I'm not in the UK so my google.uk cookies had not been set.
