Hey there, I have a bit of a problem.

When I went to update my extensions this afternoon everything seemed to be fine, I checked for updates, they downloaded and installed as normal, and Firefox asked me if I wanted to restart. Obliging as I was feeling, I said "yes, please restart," at which point Firefox did exactly that. Now here's where the weirdness comes in; upon restarting I went out looking for new extensions and installed them by the same procedure, no problem. When I restarted and went back to the add-ons screen I noticed two strange things: first, the new extensions I had just installed were missing; second, the updates to my previously installed applications had not apparently been installed either.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks!

Jason

This can be caused if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt.

  1. Open your profile folder, for details of how to find it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Delete the following files if they exist, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini and extensions.sqlite
  4. Re-start Firefox, it will then rebuild the list on installed extensions

Unfortunately this solution isn't working for me, any other suggestions?

Thanks!
