previous session opens when i don't want it to
I just had to clean install Firefox after having problems. I've pretty much set it up how I want it, except when I quit Firefox and then re-open it all the tabs come back. Which I don't want. The box in the settings page for opening with previous session is unchecked. What else am I missing? I re-started my computer just in case that was an issue but the problem continues. Thanks

What problems did you had that made you decide to do a clean reinstall ?
You did clear the Firefox folder in both locations (AppData\Roaming and AppData\Local) to start with a freash profile as a fresh profiles.ini and didn't restore data from a past profile?
Firefox might reopen the previous session automatically if Firefox isn't closed properly.
Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox Title bar, especially if you have multiple windows or Private Browsing windows open to prevent losing tabs in unnoticed windows.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
