"open link in new tab" from ctrl_click menu - disabled?

more options

I'm pretty sure that until recently i had no problem using ctrl-click to get the right-click menu on a link, clicking on Open Link in New Tab, and having that link open in a new tab.

Now I get nothing. I did recently 106.0.3 (64-bit) on my mac.

None of the solutions to similar problems that i've found on Support seem to help. What's up?

Some sites block or replace the "right-click" (Mac: Ctrl+click) context menu. Does it work on any sites at all?

To working around blocking/replacement, try adding Shift, either Shift+right-click or on Mac, Shift+Ctrl+click, to bypass sites' custom context menus.

You might also be able to use Command+click to direct a link to a new tab; it works with regular links but not ones that runs a script.

Thanks, jscher.

I'm encountering this while trying to open Results links on a Duck Duck Go search. Adding Shift doesn't see to change anything - the right-click (ctrl_click) menu pops up but when I click on "Open Tab In New Window," nothing happens.

I discovered by accident, just now, that using Option_click directly on the results (without the right-click-menu step) opens some of the links, but not others.

I also see - per your points above - that I don't have this problem w/ results of the same search conducted on Google. So it seems like it's a Duck Duck Go feature, blocking the "open links in new tab" option?

I don't use DDG that often, but you can have your results set to open in a new tab/window automatically: https://duckduckgo.com/settings
