Win10 v2004 Cannot Install, Uninstall or Refresh Firefox
Setting up newer computer. Cannot Install Firefox because Firefox installer insists Firefox must be closed first. Task Manager insists it is not open.
Please see attached PDF. RATS! PDF is not allowed. OK, see bunch-of-images. 1st image is from 2/14. All others 2/15

In the first section, "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019", I installed both the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) files, but I don't know whether the 32-bit was necessary.

For the first problem, VC Runtime, missing that file causes Firefox to be about 99% useless. When that hit me, I reinstalled the VC Runtime directly from Microsoft and then everything was back to normal:
(Note: Windows needs to be restarted after that to complete the installation.)
For the Task Manager, the simple view doesn't show hidden processes. Click that More Details button at the bottom to get the fuller view you might remember from Windows 7.
Thank you, sir.
To be honest, I forgot to check for hidden tasks. I just checked Firefox is not listed. I did check online yesterday and found that VC RUNTIME was related to C++. MS downloaded C++ several times in the past week. I'll try the link you sent.
Thanks, again.

That page looks very familiar. I recall reading about the various years, etc. There are lots of choices on that page. Just to keep from stepping into a deeper puddle, which one should I download?

Thanks for a very thorough response, realizing I might be out of my element. All better!
Next time, I'm buying a round of whatever you're having!
