Successfully using Thunderbird 68.11.0 (64-bit) to access two different email accounts for months when suddenly I am presented with a dialogue box for one of the two accounts stating "Authentication Required," yet it is populated with the correct login credentials. Restarting, re-entering credentials, etc. produces no change. Same error repeats and I cannot access email.

Please post info: Help > troubleshooting Information Copy all the section under 'Mail and News Accounts' and post info.

Authentication issues usually refer to 'Authentication Method' which for most people is 'Normal Password' although gmail uses OAuth for imap accounts. Username should be the full email address.

Toad-Hall,

Requested information from the relevant account is posted below. This is not related to a gmail account and the error message is pre-populated with the correct username (full email address) and password every time it pops up.

ID = account7

INCOMING SERVER Name = (exquilla) outlook.office365.com:443 Connection Security = SSL/TLS Authentication Method = Normal password

OUTGOING SERVERS Name = null Connection Security = None Authentication Method = Normal password Default? = true

Yes, it is. Thank you for your attention to my issue.

I was able to resolve the problem though I'm still a bit confused. I changed the pwd by logging into Outlook via a web browser, which I almost never do. That resolved the TB issue, but the confusing part is that there was never any interruption in my abilities to access that account from my mobile device. For some reason TB began rejecting the correct and functional (elsewhere) credentials and required changing them? Any perspective would be much appreciated.
