Hi zrj021, When Firefox is launched, installed extensions usually connect to their hosts and sometimes download data, e.g., block filters.
Also, there is (optional) Telemetry Data transmitted to Mozilla:
Type, or paste about:telemetry in the address bar and press Enter
The Telemetry Data page will show all of the information that you have opted to allow Firefox to send.
These options are found in Menu -> Options -> Privacy & Security page Firefox Data Collection and Use.
