I have recently begun having issues with being unable to successfully click 1) to begin a video conference (no problems going through the preliminary steps, such as choosing the default camera and speaker) and 2) suddenly, like today, being unable to make a purchase on the Amazon.com (US) website. I'd hate to have to go back to freaking Safari!

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is the exact error messages?

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

That's the thing. There's NO error message. Just a complete lack of response. At first, I thought I wasn't clicking in the "sweet spot" - but that didn't last long. First issue: I have video appointments through the VA (that's the federal government - who have an expired security certificate on one of the VA sites, which Firefox won't let me navigate to - but that's another long story) I used to only have problems connecting to the conference when there were hiccups that affected other users. Now, after the last 2 Firefox updates - I think - I can get through selecting the default camera and speaker, and when the "start" button comes up, there's no response, no matter how carefully, or how often, I click. Apparently Firefox for Windows is different, because the last time, it worked when I switched to the Windows 10 laptop (from Mac) but not the time before. There have been other websites, most notably (as of today) Amazon (US), that don't recognize when I click to make a purchase or on a link. Again, there's no error message, just lack of response. No "bump" that used to indicate that the button was "pressed."

  As for Safe Mode, does that mean I have to run in safe mode from here on? Or will something tell me what the problem is and how to fix it so I can do normal again? I appreciate your help.

. . . . who have an expired security certificate on one of the VA sites, which Firefox won't let me navigate to

For the safety of the user's system, connections to anywhere are inspected via the websites certificates. Being Federal website, it should be up to date.

Please provide a public link (no password) that we can check out. No Personal Information Please !

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.

OK, I tried Safe Mode, and one of the other sites that wouldn't let me click (like save the page, print it, etc) will now allow me to save and print. I do notice that the padlock in the address bar (not a shield) says the site is "not secure". Also able to click to buy on Amazon, but - still - only in Safe Mode. Really, really appreciate the help!
