Unable to download Mozilla 58. Always reverts back to 52
When clicking on new tab I don't get my Google home page. I get a bunch of recently viewed pages. When I try to download the "fix" I get a message that said this is not avalible for version 52 I need version 58 but it won't download. Always reverts back to 52

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? Error messages?
I have version 52 installed. When I try to upgrade to 58 it don't work. No error messages. I watch the download window progress. It just seems to reload 52. And I am unable to get updates meant for 58

From your first question I have two things in my mind: 1) Do a complete scan from malware scanner (including broswer). 2) From where you are downloading fix ? and what exactly this "fix" does? Go to about:preferences and see the firefox update section "check for updates".
if this works then you are good to go else a refresh will do the job for you, however it might removes your custom settings as well as all saved bookmarks/passwords. So first take backup of all these items . https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
