Here[1] is a thread on request to remove the annoying "Other Bookmarks" folder which has been ignored, and I even can't add comments. It just got worse: Whenever I save a bookmark now, it ends up in this folder. Which is complained about here[2] but ignored so far. This thread[3] is about the same annoyances and suggests "Classic Theme Restorer" to fix it. Classic Theme Restorer is one of all those addons that don't work with Firefox anymore..

And a related annoyance[4], which I am one of the persons complaining about, is how it saves a bookmark after 5 secs automatically if I am not fast enough selecting where to save it. An unrelated annoyance is the grey folders[5] which I found a fix for here, a welcome fx but very manual and the folders become transparent.. A very much related annoyance is how most addons dont work anymore, like the invaluable DomnThemAll, IEtab1, IEtab2, Distill Web Monitor, FireFTP and several YouTube downloaders. In fact I right now have the latest FF as 64bit AND and old FF as 32bit to be able to run some old addons. Which is not safe but Mozilla force me to it. (This works fine except I have to copy prefs.js and restore it before opening the 64 bit FF or else my preferences are messed up.) I also made a donation to DTA where i wrote I hope it encourages them to make it work again. But they wrote on their site that they would have to rewrite the whole code and that the new FF platform (WebExtensions API) is not very powerful.

WebExtensions API is the same as Chrome uses. When I chose Firefox many years ago I liked the addons (which mainly made me choose between Firefox and Chrome) and disliked the number of processes and autostart items Chome had and no search bar. But Firefox right now has 7 processes going on my PC (8 with plugin container), and there are addons for Chrome to get a searchbar (Fauxbar and SearchBar). I also liked avoiding using Google for everything and how Mozilla was non-profit, which they like pointing out ever so often, but which is not 100% true: They have divided the company into a non-profit part (Mozilla Foundation) and a company with over 1000 employees, Mozilla Corporation, owned by Mozilla Foundation, which reinvests all profits, but still, providing salaries to over 1000 persons.

The ignorant persons at Mozilla seem to think the mentioned annoyances don't matter. They do. It just pushed me over the edge and I will now go for Chrome. Why wouldn't I? Firefox used to be different and have advantages. I can't see any of that anymore.

I add links here since I can't use html here:

I had line feeds in my text. I also can't edit once posted..

tl;dr - the formatting of your posting makes it very difficult to read and with having already read your diatribe here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3037980 , I suggest that you submit feedback to Mozilla directly via the Help > Submit Feedback ... menu item inside your Firefox installation about most of your complaints. Most are beyond being a "support" related issue that we can address.

Try this extension to change the default Bookmark "save" folder. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/default-bookmark-folder/

As far as WebExtensions overall; they are less powerful than the old Legacy extensions and some WE API's aren't completed yet, but eventually WE's in Firefox should be the equivalent of their Chrome counterpart's. Some extensions just can't be made for the WE format, and those extensions will be missed by everyone. I know that I have lost at least a dozen extensions in Quantum.

What's the point in aiming at being like Chrome ? Who needs a Chrome-clone almost as good as the original? Firefox needs a niche to survive. They should have gone the other way and keep the powerful extension API and go for true non-profit.

And don't blame me for the limitations of this forum, I had aimed to add actual links, which is not supported.
