Just downloaded chrome and all buttons work fine but not with firefox....

Second, I assume it's this site: https://www.cajungrocer.com/

I actually didn't see anything I want to order right away, but if I click the "Place Order Now" button a script in the page immediately marks all the required fields I left blank. Does yours operate at least that far? I suppose if you are logged into your account there might not be any blank unless you clear one.

If a site is generally known to work in Firefox, these are general suggestions to try when it stops working:

Cache and Cookies: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

• right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
• (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
• click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Testing in Firefox's Safe Mode: In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

• "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
• Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Thanks for your reply...Most buttons work on Cajun Grocer...LOGIN and SUBMIT after order completed do not...An easier one to test with is UPS.COM after you have tracked something there is an option for email updates...That one is dead to me on that page, I believe I sent a pic in showing all that happens is it is boxed in with a red line, yet other boxes on that page work....

I tried all the above and still the same.. I get around it by using CHROME...Not a pleasant work around but it will do for now. Since all of this is hit or miss on the same page, I did not think reinstalling Firefox would fix this. Thanks for the assistance...

Yes, that rarely helps unless Firefox's program files have become corrupted. It happens occasionally.

Thanks but under chrome the button worked on the ups site and I am getting updates...Also called into Cajun Grocers....The one thing in common is the code around these buttons is using Java....So that am not sure if Java is the issue...

I'm sure they use JavaScript (not the Java plugin); nearly all submit buttons now use JavaScript, like the "Preview Reply" button on this forum. But if the built-in "on/off" switch for JavaScript were turned off in your Firefox, numerous websites would be warning you in large banners about the problem. Instead, it's probably something more subtle and specific.

Does your system have a touchscreen -- not a touch pad in place of a mouse, but the actual display?

Firefox 52 turned on touchscreen auto-detection on the Windows version of Firefox, and that causes strange issues on some sites.

Here's where you find that setting if you want to experiment with it:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste touch and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled preference and edit the value to 0 (zero) and then click OK. The options are:

• 0 => disable touch
  
• 1 => enable touch
  
• 2 => auto-detect whether the system supports touch (default in Fx52)

I don't know whether that will take effect immediately or after you exit and start Firefox up again. Does that have any effect on how the problem buttons work?

OK i have several questions about what you typed...It seems easier if you can go to https://www.cajungrocer.com/customer/account/login/ and on my firefox the login button is dead..The create new account button works fine. You can do no damage. But I would expect that if you pressed login and it worked and both fields were empty(login and password) there would be some kind of message. It is also a good example of a page where one button works and another does not.

I was not sure if you wanted me to have this up in one tab and then do the above in a new tab or not have the site up.... So I decided to let you see....

I could give you a ups tracking number where the button to email progress is dead but all other buttons on the page work after tracking number is entered.....

What gets selected if you right-click this button and open the Inspector?

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.

OK here is my solution....

Don;'t ask me to explain....

Roboform Everywhere was sending me a nag box to renew..I would always get a script error on the box and always selected quit running scripts on this page.

Well I just renewed and now all my buttons are working.... Makes little sense to me,....THANKS ALL THOSE THAT HELPED....

Again I have the same problem but no longer can blame it on Roboforms nag screen.

I did reinstall firefox and still basically have one button on a page that will not work... Usually something that causes submittance of the page.

If I go to Chrome it will work. I really love firefox and I hate Chrome but need to use what works...

Also looked through events and saw nothing with firefox as of yet.. Still looking and will post if I find something.

Oh and under msconfig java is loading without problems.

Does that mean the touch screen is disabled at the system level and doesn't function in any application? If the touchscreen still functions, please try changing the Firefox setting, too.

Dell scans and stress tests show no issues.

Running diagnostics from dell and problem reoccurred. On attached "test selected devices" dead and never even acted like it was selected. But underneath, link learn more worked fine. Whole code is nothing but scripts.

Can you right-click the button and open the Inspector?

That's interesting. What Preview does is send a request to the server in the background using a script, and then loads the preview content below the row of buttons.

If you have the developer tools open in the lower part of the page and click Network, then click the Preview Reply button, you should see a POST request sent to answer-preview-async with JS xhr as the "Cause." If it's successful, there will be a green dot and 200 on the left end of the row. Does yours show a request was sent with some response code other than 200, or does it just show nothing?
