Firefox automatically upgraded itself to version 41 and now the Trusteer Rapport Endpoint Protection icon is no longer shown to the right of the address bar. It is still there and working in Internet Explorer. The same situation is happening on 2 PCs, both Windows 7 64 bit.

Surely Trusteer Rapport is a widely used feature - one would have thought a new release of Firefox would have been tested to work with it.

It is use to the developer of an extension to ensure that the extension keeps working in a next Firefox version. There are beta and special developer builds available for testing, so there should be plenty of time.

You will have to contact Trusteer for support and check if there is already an update.

Make sure that you have the latest updates of your Trusteer software. You can try to contact Trusteer for support.

Thank you Foxyjim for your comments. I was aware of the auto update problem and I have complained to Trusteer before on many occasions. Having said that my version 157.104 was out of date! Interestingly Microsoft didn't want me to install 157.105 as it wasn't recognised as being safe!! For a company as big as IBM, you would think they would get their act together. What a shower!

I have eventually received a reply from Trusteer in which they confirm that they have no intention of supporting Firefox 44 in 64bit form, in the near future. This means that if you want to use this security feature you will need to use another browser. They also fail to give a reason for not supporting it.

Thank you for your response. Please be advised that Rapport does not support Firefox 64-bit at the moment. Unfortunately, there are no immediate plans to support this version of Firefox. You may use one of our supported browsers: For a list of currently supported browsers, click here: http://www.trusteer.com/support/supported-platforms Rapport cannot protect web sessions performed in unsupported browsers and its icon will not appear in these browsers.

Support for Google Chrome for Mac, Safari for Windows and additional browsers may be incorporated in future releases of Rapport, but unfortunately there are no immediate plans of this kind.

Well chaps. I have received a message from Trusteer Support with the following link : [edit J99} http://download.trusteer.com/Gcur4Wtnu/RapportSetup.exe which worked a treat. Now they are bugging me for FEEDBACK. Which I am currently considering....

Please take care with that download. It is an executable file from a none secure site. Compare the https attempt: https://download.trusteer.com/Gcur4Wtnu/RapportSetup.exe J99

Curiouser and curiouser. Please let us know how you get on, KOK. Maybe Trusteer will sort this out eventually. I am amazed that Trusteer should turn its back on 20% of internet users. While thanking you for your link, I'm reluctant to download an exe. file from an insecure site especially as it involves access to my piggy bank!

I have not used Trusteer for a while. I have used Firefox 64 bit mainly. Fx 64 bit has been available as standard releases on Linux & Mac for years, and most modern computers are now 64bit

Trusteer invariably causes issues on Firefox upgrades & Fx is on a six week upgrade cycle.

My Banking & online shoppng has not been a problem, obviously the banks and sites use alternative methods of verification.

I have edited the link, so that itis not clickable; because it was to an executable file on a none secure site. Anyone wanting to use it just copy and paste the text into Fx address bar.

Didn't work for the 64bit version for me. Are you using the 32bit version KOKelly?

The Rapport app works perfectly on Mozilla now. I do not know what bits I am - it is a new computer, so probably 64. I do not know what an unsecured site is. I am sorry if I have broken e-protocol. My bank recommended it and I have used it for 5 years. Any hackers are welcome to break into my current account and pay off my overdraft. Is a very old joke. Cheers.

It is safer to use links that begin https instead of http they are more secure.

I am surprised Trusteer is using http links for downloads of a finance related security program.

Firefox itself has been 64bit for quite a while, except on Windows. There is now an option to use 64 bit Firefox on Windows, but most users will not be aware of this. Eventually Firefox 64bit will become standard.

Win64 Firefox Releases has existed since Fx 42.0 and has been easily available on www.mozila.org/firefox/all/ (Systems & Languages link on mozilla.org) since Fx 43.0 Release.

Mozilla just chooses to still serve the 32-bit stub installer on www.mozilla.org for windows users as they have done since Firefox 18.0.

Now I'm REALLY confused. I have FF 44.0.1 applied yesterday, and Rapport still does not work. I have Windows 7, so presumably 32-bit FF, so Rapport non-support for 64-bit FF does not matter? To a non-techie this is more and more baffling.

I've been following this problem for some months now. My Firefox has also just updated to 44.0.1 and NOW my Trusteer icon has vanished from the toolbar. My selection of "Start Menu-All Programs-Trusteer Endpoint Protection" selection tells me that Trusteer is actually running, but of course I cannot now see the icon in my toolbar....which means if I want to protect a new site, I can't click on it to do so.

It seems to me that the automatic Firefox updates immediately have an effect on the functioning of the Rapport icon....in other words, it disappears (in most cases). The only way to prevent the problem is to not have automatic Firefox updates. I am lucky in that I have access to a Mac computer with Rapport installed so I can do my banking/secure stuff on that, if needs be. I don't have IE on my Windows 7 computer, have tried for hours to install/upgrade it but it's totally ***** so I don't bother with it any more. It seems ridiculous to have to keep upgrading Rapport to keep up with FF. I don't see this being solved anytime soon.

Please start your own questions about this. When posting please try to follow the prompts to include the troubleshooting information, and please state what version of Trusteer you are using.

You will not get proper help posting in someone else's old thread from the days of Firefox 41.

Unfortunately for the users of Trusteer it is there responsibility to keep their software up to date and compatible with Firefox. Firefox like some other browsers such as Google Chrome will regularly update, and often those updates are security related.

I is a bad idea NOT to update Firefox, (and any other security related software including your Operating System and Trusteer) any security holes fixed are announced and the bad guys can then exploit those in users that do not update. If you are no updating Firefox switch to some other updated Browser.

If you use this special link it will save you time and contributors will realise you have looked at or posted in this thread

I will close this thread as it is old and marked solved.

N.B. It may help if you explain why Trusteer Rapport is considered essential. My personal experience is that I may still use banking and online shopping without Trusteer Rapport.
