I´ve been using firefox now for quite a long time and have repeatedly encountered crashes on a daily if not hourly base. I´ve tried prettty much and I´ve also submitted dozens of crash reports but none of this has ever been able to really solve the problem of firefox crashing. Is there any way to permanently solve this problem? ID:s of last few crashes: bp-1189be6a-79a3-4ca4-b315-68a162150112 bp-ec0e0e15-b59e-48cd-95a9-3498d2150112 bp-26265c7b-ed07-46a6-8b3f-f21482150112

How long have you been having crashes for a few | days | weeks | months ?

Please paste in another 2 or 3 recent crashIDs with your reply.

Firefox should not keep crashing, but in addition to submitting crash reports if you need personal assistance you do need to do as you have now done and contact this forum.

Firefox 35 has only recently been released, and if your crashes were caused by that it may take a few days to work out what crashes Fx35 could cause.

Hi! First of all thank you for your very quick reply. I´ve been having these crashes for months so it´s quite a long time. As you mention in your reply it might have something to do with the new Firefox version but I think that I remember having crash problems with Firefox earlier. However, the ID:s of another 3 crashes are as follows: bp-2ad75a1e-5088-4842-97c6-ac7f72150112 bp-611672fd-8516-49bf-8cc0-de6152150112 bp-f65a34ea-99f5-4c0b-a5ba-bf5342150112

You can try to disable OMTC and leave hardware acceleration in Firefox enabled.

  • about:config page: layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
