Verizon Webmail Long Non-text windows do not have vertical scrollbar

more options

When I get a non-text message in Verizon Webmail that requires me to scroll down to see it all, there is no vertical scrollbar. When I display this same message in IE9, the scrollbar appears. I think this is another problem in V30/V31 as I did not see this problem before upgrading.

By non-text message, do you mean a very tall image?

Does it help if you adjust the zoom level on the page: hold down the Ctrl key and tap + to enlarge and - to reduce several times in each direction to see whether a scroll bar appears.

Verizon apparently made some changes to address the problem with reply and forward. I'm not sure whether you noticed this scroll bar issue before those changes or only after those changes. (Not that I know what they changed...)

I suppose so. I should not have to adjust the zoom for this to work as before. If I click the view-as-a-web-page url at the top of the e-mail message, it goes to the url and a vertical scroll bar appears on the webpage.

I'm also not sure when it broke, but it is currently broken.

I once had that issue, and had no idea how to take care of it. But it was only a minor annoyance. One day, on a separate issue, I decided to reset Firefox. That issue was solved. And so was my scroll bar problem.

If you want to Reset Firefox {web link}, first backup everything.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

I do not want to reset firefox and lose everything, then try to restore and never know until something fails that I lost that something. There has got to be a specific fix - Bill Gates is no longer telling everyone to reinstall everything, reboot, and hope things are better ;) .

As a test to see whether a Reset might help, you could try this (takes about 3 minutes):

Create a new Firefox profile

A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.

Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):

firefox.exe -P

Do not delete anything here.

Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.

Click the Create Profile button, choose a name like Aug7, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.

Does Verizon mail work differently in the new profile?

When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.
