I have three computers that run Mozilla, one is constantly on, that is the only one that still has the bookmark tab at top left of screen, the others have lost my bookmarks and have no tabs at top of screen. How can I block the upgrade on one and undo the upgrade on the two others? I have bookmarks I use every few months that took forever to find.....

Are you talking about the orange Firefox button being gone from the upper left corner of Firefox?

If so, hit the Alt key to see the Menu Bar, which has a Bookmarks menu item, then hit Bookmarks.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right-click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.

You can use one of these to set which toolbars to show.

  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden Menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

Thanks for the help, but that is not the problem. When I hit the F11 key I lose the whole border. I only have one computer that has not updated so my bookmarks still exist, is it possible to copy them so they can be saved/moved before the update gets them?

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.

  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden Menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area

Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup

Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.

  • With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar
A consequence of this new menu button is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
  • There is a star like button to the right end of the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu
  • It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu on the toolbars to have menus like the Bookmarks menu
