My firefox is closing and IE is opening with the page I am trying to view for a number of sites.

when i type: hotmail xbox.com caixa.gov.br

firefox closes and almost immediately IE opens with the site, but I dont use and dislike IE, and need firefox to view these. Is there a solution?
