I stored my profile at a custom location (windows) and then ported to the profile folder over to ubuntu linux,

when I start thunderbird with that profile directory though, I only restore basic information about the accounts, but none of the cached emails and also none of the passwords, I have to relogin which even prompts e.g. google to reask for 2fa.

So how do I port everything over, including cached messages and passwords so I don't need to relogin/redownload emails?

I suspect that there is a problem with my emails arriving. There is a new "Do you want this to change the settings on your computer - Yes or No" Which I have never seen before. When I sign into my email a/c it says it is connected to my provider - activ8.net.au but nothing happens from there.

I have 10 email accounts in my Thunderbird 115.12.2 (64-bit) and I am using Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and all my sent, draft, archives and templates are going into a different folder. I want them to go into the folder from which the email was sent but they are all going into the email tinakeeling@att.net.

I have changed it to reflect the correct folder but then a few days later and every time I restart Thunderbird the program changes the folders back to tinakeeling@att.net

I have even unchecked the box "place a copy in" and when Thunderbird is restarted it reverts back.

What can I do to fix this issue?

When I am typing in an email, it will type a few words, then, freezes for 3 ~ 4 seconds, or so, then, with catchup to where I was typing. If I have a mistake, and use the arrow key to move the cursor, it will move a few spaces, then freezes. I have to stop, wait for the cursor to appear again, then hit the arrow key again, and repeats. Moves a few letters/spaces, and cursor disappears again. and I have to wait again a few seconds to get the cursor back. I end up, just having to use the mouse to click where I need to go, so I can correct the spelling. ... some time ago, I ran across some pc -hack?- where you delete ALL temp files, and a couple of other things, that I dont remember now, which I did, and Thunderbird works fine - for a little while, as in few minutes I think it was, then was right back to hanging up/freezing - for several seconds. Has gotten so, I have had to go back to Outlook most of the time. Or maybe Onmail. ... Using Win 10 Pro Version 22H2 Build: 19045.3930 If this means anything to you.. ... WisperISP is the company that has the server for my email. They had a server migration a few days ago & now I cannot sent out emails. Talked with their Tech dept & all of the settings are correct. They do not know how to help me! Here are the settings: Mail Servers -Incoming & Outgoing :mail.wisperhome.com Security: both servers :SSL IMAP Users: Incoming mail server port: 993 Outgoing port: 465 POP3 Users: Incoming port: 995 Outgoing port: 465 Login info:Username- rae1649@wisperhome.com Password - regular email password Authentication - outgoing - normal password

Despite what one contributor claims (that, "saving custom colours outside a session doesn't happen, as it has never been a windows feature") it certainly used to. And I'm talking MS-Paint in Windows 3.11 !

However, back to today... I keep Thunderbird open and minimized as this feature got broken or lost long ago and I need custom colours to be retained. This latest release (115.9.0 (32-bit)), however, has even lost the ability to keep a colour pallet from one email to the next.

Quite frustrating, as I use different colours for different clients. soem have very specific codes, which I have to replicate each time I am about to send.

Rogers is no longer generating codes to use for 3rd party apps such as Thunderbird. Consequently my husband's email is no longer funneling through. He is getting my emails to his folder. I recently switched from Kaspersky to BitDefender. My passwords stopped working then. I managed to get back into Thunderbird but now the messages download (at least I think they do) but nothing shows in the reader window. Can anyone explain how this has happened? I am confounded. My email is from Gmail and has worked flawlessly for years, but not anymore!

I use Thunderbird (TB) 115.13.0 64-bit on Windows 11. TB displays in 1 window with 4 tabs (Mail, calendar, address book, tasks). In the Address Book (AB) tab when I double click on a contact to edit or view it, a new window used to open. I found that most useful. For a while now, the contact opens in a pane in the address book tab: -Either a large pane to the right of the existing AB panes, requiring the TB window to be widened such that it takes up most of my 27" display (when table layout is not chosen). -Or a new pane at the bottom of the address book tab which makes a small area to edit, and a small area to view the list of contacts (when Table Layout is not chosen). Question: Can TB Contacts be configured to open a contact in a new window (or new tab) instead of a new pane in the AB tab? Thanks!!!
