I have delete all my stored passwords from the stored password list under Security. This list is now empty. However when I use the program SIW (System Info for Windows) and check under the items 'secrets', I still can see a list of Firefox passwords. How is this possible, where are they stored?

Maybe you updated in the past from a Firefox 2.0 or 3.0 version and in that case it is possible that still have the files signons2.txt and/or signons3.txt used by those versions. Firefox doesn't remove the files used by older versions if you update.
