You can simply install the regular release version. If Firefox would want to create a new profile, then delete compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder.

You can find the full installer of the current Firefox release (149.0) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Firefox 140.9.0esr is based on the Firefox 140.0 Release but with security/stability fixes since and no new features are added. The new built-in VPN is only in Fx 149.0 and later.

Firefox 153.0 ESR scheduled for release on July 21 may be the fist ESR to have the built-in VPN. Though normally the ESR channel versions are used by Enterprise users in mind so it may be disabled by default?
