I noticed when I went to check for updates the Fire Fox Browser is, Windows MSIX Package Mozilla, MSIX 1.0 143.0.1 (64 bit). What is this and why? Do I need to uninstall this version of Fire Fox and reinstall a new one? If so, how do I do that without loosing all my data. Thanks for your help!

Hi Jon

Thank you for your question.

My understanding is that is a copy of Firefox from the Windows app store. It is an official build of Firefox from Mozilla.

I hope that this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Is it okay to continue using this version or should I download a version from Fire Fox? Will this version automatically update itself because I don't see where I can manually check for updates like I used to do? I don't know how this version got installed on my computer, all I did do was a refresh because I was having some problems.

Hi jspears7883,

This version is similar to the regular Firefox version, though there are several things you may notice, such as slightly delayed updates, slightly delayed feature landing and files stored in a different directory. Check out this Microsoft article on how to update this Firefox version.
