All the tool bars take up too much space at the top of the page, and I do not use the bookmarks anyway, so how do I hide or eliminate this portion of the tool bars to allow more space at the top of the page.?

In the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the names of the toolbars that you want to hide. You can also right-click on a toolbar and click on the name of the toolbar to toggle displaying it. Active toolbars will have a tick by their name.
