Hi,

I can't seem to retrieve all of my Firefox bookmarks or passwords on this new mac laptop. My other (mac) one fried. I thought everything was saved on Firefox. Tried to sync from phone (android) too. Therefore, I'm having a hard time logging into certain accounts, which I depend on Firefox for my saved passwords. (evidently that is a thing of the past and I will now write all passwords down in a safe place. Also does anyone know why when I scroll on my mouse I have to scroll up, in order to scroll down, more importantly how can I change it back. This is a new glitch. and I'd rather not get used to it! Please help if you can.

Thank you, techno dummy Noel lol

Paul, I didn't even think of my tablet. I will try that. I think ALL my bookmarks at least, are there. Thanks

Hi

Thank you for your question about the Firefox Sync service.

It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.

If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.

If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.

Hi Paul thanks for answering. hmmm nope not using it for backup. I have mediafire for that. I am just trying to retrieve my bookmarks and passwords, as firefox saved them at least on my other laptop. I already know that all is lost that I didn't move to iCloud, mediafire, or google photos. :( I guess I thought all my bookmarks were a Firefox thing, and when I downloaded firefox on this device they would all show. When I bought a new laptop last time, they did. Thank for answering
