How to stop messages from opening full-screen

I must have hit something and now every time I double click a messages, it opens full screen instead of just in a small window where i can still see my inboxes. Does anyone know how to disable this?

Hi Thunderbird should use your last used setting. So - if you open an email, make it full screen, then X to close, the next email will also open full screen. This should work to change back to a window - open any email, click the 2 boxes next to the X to make it a window, adjust the size, X to close. After that other emails should open the same size.
