I want to increase the cache size from its default size to 500MB. I want it to stay. I can increase now to 500MB using about:Config.

Hi all, I am using Firefox mobile for Android. I need to increase the cache size to 500MB. I have issued the about:config to get to the cache settings. I have been modifying the browser.catch.disk.capacity parameter field. As I understand it, the listing is measures in bytes. That said I have been modifying using 500000000 as the cache size. This seems to work for the folks out in the field. However, for some reason the browser seems to reset to the default size of 204800. We need it to stay at 500000000. are there other parameters That need to be set to make it lock to the new size. We need it not to reset to the default size of 204800. The default cache size is to low and causing the browser to lock up and not display all field related activities. We are using the Firefox Android mobile for our entire field force. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance, Paul Juarez

Currently when I changed the cache size on mine it reverted as well. It looks like there was a cap put on it for better performance.

I did find this and it looks like they created more space on an sdcard, I have not tried this without an sdcard: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../947996

Hi Thanks for the reply. We found that the cap on the tablet mobile browser to be 204800. On a nobile phone it is diffrent. The cap is 133120. However, when I raise to the cap it seems to stay at that. It does not revert to the default of 20480. Go figure? Anyways we were able to fix the caching problem in the Oracle database on the server side. Thank you and best regards, Paul
