I have a zipfile of emails. How can I get Tunderbird to read them?
I previously archived emails to and from various individuals into a zipfile which I stored on my PC. Now, I should like to unzip them and get Thunderbird to read them. How could I best accomplish this? Thanks very much for your help.

Do you recall how you got them out of Thunderbird and into a zip file? This would be useful information as it would give some indication of what format or filetype was used.
I used a webmail based email service from my ISP (which I still do) you can reach me directly at mozilla@rpf.com to avoid tis logging in/out bs thank you for your help Konrad
Unzip - extract the files. what type of files are they eg: *.eml?
If they are saved as .eml files then use this addon:
How to install an addon extension:
then right click on folder select ImportExporttool > Import Messages
Instructions for installation do not match any choices available on the procedure you have described to install the addon at

my only thunderbird menu choices are as in the attachment ... sorry ....
More recent versions of Thunderbird introduced the 3bar menu icon and by default disabled the Menu Bar. As virtually all help refers to the toolbars, this was not one of the developers brightest ideas and has confused many people. The supplied image shows that you do not have all the toolbars enabled.
You have two options. Use the menu icon, this will also get you to the same page for installing the addon. 3bar menu icon > Addons
or enable the Menu Bar to see 'File', Edit, View, Go, Message, Tools, Help
To enable all the toolbars: 3bar menu icon > Options > select all the toolbars listed. see attached image
