I sometimes get a message that my account is being processed. I have had this problem before but can't remember how I got out of it. I am computer literate but I am also 91 years old. Think Biden! Hello. Some email addresses are no longer being delivered and are not appearing in my spam folder.

This started about three weeks ago with just one address. Now, I know of at least two.

Emails from these addresses that I used to receive and delete have also disappeared from my spam folder.

Does anyone have a solution?

I was working with my own simple pop3 test server and noticed thunderbird also K-9 and even Gmail seem to send some unstandard commands to the server causing an error. FairEmail however works fine. The server is a simple pop3 for local testing can anybody explain why your email clients are not compatible with pop3 standards perhapse how you deviated from the standard?

I have used Apple Mail, GMail and Outlook; i am hoping that Thunderbird will achieve (relative) zero inbox.

My objective is to create an inbox that observes established rules/filters and directs my emails into the appropriate folders. I was hoping that Thunderbird would achieve this objectives but I have so far been unsuccessful.

I would be happy to screenshare with an appropriate technician in order to resolve this issue as its becoming increasingly frustrating.

I get the message "Login to server mail.sasktel.net with username powalinsky failed" even though none of the sign-in credentials have changed and I can access the same account in a browser and on my iphone. This problem began last Friday. It has occurred occasionally and briefly in the past, seemingly resolving itself. I have tried the troubleshooting suggestions that I found online, but to no avail.

I am setting up a new installation of KDE6 on PClinuxOS and have hit a problem with copying over my Thunderbird profile from my old KDE5 installation.

I keep the profiles for Firefox and Thunderbird on a separate data partition and access them from my home folder with symbolic links.

I then just copy the whole thing over to another computer's data file linked in the same way. This has always worked in the past and Firefox copied over OK, but there's a small problem with Thunderbird, everything is there but the inbox. I get the message:-

  " Unable to open the summary file for inbox on MUN. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long."

(MUN is the name of the mail server)

I've recopied several times but the problem persists. I'm not sure what file it's referring to, there is nothing by that name that I can find.

The outbox is OK I've just sent myself a message.

When i try to send one, it says that there's an error with the server, it cab't connect anymore to the SMTP server. I tried to change the SMTP mail, to delete my account and reconnect. But nothing helps. What can I do? It's the only way for me to connect to my iCloud mail for now.

Thunderbird has been acting weird. For a week or so, it has sometimes been downloading only one message at a time when I hit "Get Messages." I have to keep clicking "Get Messages" over and over to download my email. Now, however, it won't retrieve any messages at all from that account. It goes through the motions, and says that there are no messages to retrieve, but there are. I have tried restarting, both Thunderbird and my computer, several times. I have tried compacting the inbox. I briefly got it working again after restarting, but it's back to not working and restarting does nothing. The online information tells me to delete my account and then add it again, but it also seems to indicate that if I do that I'll lose the email that is currently stored under that account. That's not an option! I am able to send messages, and Thunderbird retrieves messages from my other email account just fine.

I'm trying to set up Thunderbird to send messages via Google Mail.

When I send a message, it reaches Google (it's in the Google "Sent" folder), and is successfully forwarded on to the recipient. However, the Thunderbird "Sending Message" progress box never closes and only disappears when I press cancel. It is, I assume, waiting for an acknowledgement from Google that never comes. But how do I fix this? The messages are being sent but I have no way of knowing without logging on to GMail to see if it's in the sent folder.

I am working on my Windows 11 where I have TB synced with a Comcast account and a frozen GMAIL due to the need to free up space. Under GMAIL I had to look up older messages for recipients before sending the message I prepared with the attachment. I used my Comcast email as the address in the cc: line; but did not realize that I was still in the GMAIL before I hit Send. Why did it bother to send? Now that I sent it, I do not have a copy. A box appeared that said that it would not make a copy. I understood what the problem was; but it gave me no chance to change the account at the top so that TB could copy it to my Comcast folder. How can I retrieve this message?

I’m Japanese and don’t speak English, so the English forum is difficult for me to use.

It’s a hassle to have to post on the forum like this just because I can’t easily send feedback in my local language.

I have two pieces of feedback I wanted to share this time.

1. Sometimes when I open Thunderbird, I get an error message saying it can’t load because there are too many accounts. Is this because it’s trying to check them all at once?

Please have it load them one by one in order. Or, please add an option in the settings to do this.

2. Messages marked with “Re:” are replies, right?

Let’s say my account is “Apple.” If I reply from “Apple,” a message marked “Re:” should remain in the “Apple” folder. From the recipient’s perspective, replies to emails from “Apple” should also come from “Apple.”

However, there were emails where I was recorded as having replied from a different account, even though I don’t recall switching accounts when replying.

So, from the recipient’s perspective, it looked like the email came from a stranger, and they replied asking me to identify myself.

While it’s not impossible that I might have changed the address by mistake while half-asleep, I’m reporting that there were instances where I was recorded as replying from a different address even though I don’t remember making a mistake.

I just want to share a request and a report, so there’s no need to reply.

アカウントがリンゴだとします。 リンゴから返信したら、リンゴの中にRe付きのものが残るはずです。 相手からしたら、リンゴから来たメールの返信もリンゴから来るはずです。

しかし、返信する時にアカウントを変えた覚えがないのに、違うアカウントから返信したことになったメールがありました。

なので、相手からしたら、知らない人からメールが来たことになり、誰だか分からないから教えてくださいと返信が来ました。

ねぼけて返信時にアドレスを変更した可能性も0ではありませんが、間違えた覚えが無いのに違うアドレスから返信したことになったものがあったことを報告しておきます。

リクエストと報告を伝えたいだけなので、返信は不要です。

I have three separate Yahoo email accounts. I set up Thunderbird to link to each Yahoo email account separately. It worked fine for a year or more. On 5/25/26 one of the three Thunderbird email accounts stopped downloading emails from Yahoo. I could see at the bottom bar Thunderbird indicating that is was downloading 1 of XX emails, but never actually downloads them. There is no error message. I checked the Yahoo email account to verify the number of emails I am missing from Thunderbird and the number is correct. I can see the emails in Yahoo. I'm the only person using Thunderbird, so no changes have been made to previous settings for retrieval. I confirmed Security and server settings for Thunderbird in and out going emails, and Yahoo are correct. I tested the connection in Thunderbird, and the connection is successful. I tried to send an email from the Thunderbird account having issues, and the email was sent and received by the recipient. The recipient replied, and Yahoo received the email, but failed to download it to Thunderbird...along with all the other emails since 5/25/26. I unlinked the account and reestablished the link between Yahoo and Thunderbird, and still not fixed. I tried restarting the computer, with no change. I tried to send an email from Thunderbird to one of the other Thunderbird emails and it was sent and received. I made changes to Thunderbird to force the download of emails, and it still wouldn't do it. I turned off my antivirus, closed Thunderbird, and restarted it, and that didn't change anything. The capacity of emails on the email in question only has 739 emails, so it's not over the limit and I have plenty of storage capacity. Thunderbird is set to save emails, Cookies and cache were cleared, no change. I ran the folder repair feature in Thunderbird, but there was no change. I compared all the settings between the other Thunderbird emails that are working against the one that isn't, and they are all the same. There was a suggestion to close out of Thunderbird and delete the "Global-message-db.sqite" file from the Thunderbird profile in case it was corrupted, and it would recreate this file when Thunderbird was restarted. The file was recreated, but it didn't fix the problem. There was mention that a suspicious email in Yahoo might be blocked by Thunderbird, so I placed various emails in the spam folder, and it didn't work. I did find one email in the Yahoo spam folder that was dated before 5/25/26 and moved it to the Yahoo inbox. Lo and behold, that one email downloaded to Thunderbird. So there is something within Thunderbird preventing emails from downloading after 5/25/26. I've read many people complain about similar download failures with no solid fix. Someone mentioned it fixed itself on a day, but then stopped again days later. Someone else mentioned Yahoo changed its password protocol to transfer emails, but that doesn't make sense since the other two are still downloading based on the "old" password protocol. I'm at wits' end. Thanks for reading all of this. I hope someone has a solution.

I have Thunderbird 146.0.1, using 6 email accounts with POP. Two questions:

1) Whenever I start Thunderbird, it retrieves only a subset of the email accounts which I have defined to Thunderbird. Some accounts retrieve ALL, and other accounts retrieve NONE. I also have the extension "Get All Mail" and when I click that it retrieves ALL the email, including the email that the Thunderbird base program didn't retrieve. How can I get Thunderbird to get ALL the email?

or alternatively...

2) Can I somehow disable the Automatic Retrieval of Email when I start Thunderbird? ... and rely solely on the "Get All Email" extension.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.
