Why have amazon prime videos stopped working with firefox and how can I fix it?. It was working last week and suddenly stopped. Now all attempts to play videos are met with a permanent Amazon hourglass.

Since it worked last week,

I'd check Firefox's DRM component first. Go to Settings → General → Digital Rights Management (DRM) Content,

turn off “Play DRM-controlled content,” restart Firefox, then turn it back on so Widevine can reload. Update Firefox too, and temporarily disable ad blockers for Prime Video. If it still hangs, clear Amazon's site data and try again.

I have this problem too.

Amazon Video on Linux plays perfectly with Firefox 157.x.x and stopped with version 158.x.x Using the same exact settings for DRM, etc, the videos play on version 157 and fail in 158, even when all extensions are disabled.

This problem is from Firefox 158, not your settings.

I see that on 158 when I look at the videos page, every video that can be accessed without paying is looping on "Resume Episode ..." with the washing machine icon running endlessly. On version 157 they show instantly "Resume Episode ..." without any icon showing it's still calculating.

Firefox 158 still plays Netflix videos so this is not a DRM issue.

This is exactly the same as my symptoms. I've tried these things to no effect "I'd check Firefox's DRM component first.
