Unable to get into Thunderbird on new computer with new password
I've been using Thunderbird for 30 years. My E-mail address is via my internet provider, but don't use the provider's webmail. Each time I've gotten a new computer, I have to change my password on the provider's webmail because I can never remember the old password and I use the same password to get into my Thunderbird E-mail. Well, I just bought a new computer, but this time, the new password is not working (and no I don't remember the old password). I keep getting an error message saying that the configuration or the password are wrong. I verified with my internet provider that all the server configuration parameters are correct. Can anyone help me? I don't want to have to start all over again with a brand new E-mail account with no E-mail contact list and E-mail histories going back only 2 months.
Please contact jrh9556@nycap.rr.com to LMK my problem has received a response. Thank you.

Does your new computer also come with a new antivirus product that might simply be blocking access? They are, in my opinion, almost interchangeable and almost universally poor products that rely on fear to retain their customers, not quality products. Hence I rely on Defender.
