In video too much high brightness

more options

Recently decided to try Mozilla for Windows. There is such a problem, and only on Mozilla: the video is very overexposed, the brightness is high, like in a fog, and on all video services, including YouTube. At the same time, I checked on all the other 3 browsers - everything is fine with the video. I did not change any settings in Mozilla, everything is by default. How to fix it?

You need to provide a link to the video so others can verify what is the cause of the issue if there is one.

Mine's duller. I'm using a very boring business-grade monitor, no custom profile, no HDR. Do you notice any issues with JPEGs or PNGs, or is it exclusive to video?

Just compare the video quality in different browsers: Mozilla, Chrome, Edge, Yandex

Could you test whether it makes any difference to disable color management? Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste gfx.color_management and pause while the list is filtered. Firefox should display numerous settings.

(3) To completely disable color management, double-click the gfx.color_management.mode preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 0 then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

I can't remember whether that takes effect immediately (the next time you reload a page) or whether it takes effect after the next time you exit/restart Firefox.

Any difference?
