Just this week (10/1/12) I signed out of youtube and now I cannot log back in there or in my gmail account. I have tried every single fix-it/remedy offered on the FF forum but nothing works.

Everything else works, all websites I frequent load fine, is youtube doing something on purpose to FF users? I can get to the youtube page and view videos, but I cannot log in, every time I click the sign in button I get:

"The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but I can log in to youtube with no problem on IE, but I hate that browser. I am using windows 7 and FF 15. Can anybody figure this one out?

Seems like this is a firefox issue since that has never happened on IE, Safari or Opera on me. Do you guys not think a simple patch can fix this problem. I have to delete individual cookies every few days.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that aren't send or otherwise blocked.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Another user reported that updating Adobe plugins mysteriously helped with Gmail login. Why can't I access gmail using Firefox?

Perhaps the issue there was "Flash cookies"? In order to clear Flash cookies, you can use the Website Storage Settings panel on the following page:

To solve this problem there is no need to delete all of your cookies, simply delete the ones associated with your google and youtube accounts. Here's how:

- Click Tools/Options/Privacy

- Click "Remove Individual Cookies"

- In the Cookies Window type "accounts" (no quotes) into the Search box

- Select all the cookie names starting with: accounts.google.com and accounts.youtube.com

- Click Remove Cookie

You should now be able to reach your Gmail or Youtube login page as usual. This is how I was able to solve my problem. Deleting other google.com and youtube.com cookies did not help, only after I deleted the account cookies I was able to get back to the login page.

Yes to delete the cookies for the google accounts solved everything, i'm not a techie but the accounts information must have blocked the web address from redirecting and when you delete them the block dissapears.

A BIG THANX to YOU RayNA!

I have not had this issue with chrome, IE, and even normal firefox, but with Waterfox only. I hope you can fix this soon, since it has been there for about a month!
