When trying to send an email it will not go
This is the message I get when it does not go. I contacted Spectrum and they told me to check Thunderbird.
Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: p-impout004.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net cmsmtp 73.238.167.193 blocked. I clicked the link and this is the text I got for the error you posted.
1100 - 1150 The IP address you’re trying to connect from has an issue with the Domain Name System (DNS). Spectrum requires a full circle DNS for emails to be allowed through. Verify the IP you’re connecting from, and check the IP address to ensure a reverse DNS entry exists for the IP. To verify your Spectrum IP address, you can look for Advanced WiFi settings in the My Spectrum app. If it looks like the IP address is configured correctly but you continue to get error messages, please contact us.
So I checked the IP address mentioned. https://whoisfreaks.com/tools/ip-whois/lookup/73.238.167.193 It is registered to Comcast Cable Communications, LLC (CCCS)
I tested it via traceRT and this was part of the result stareting at hop 13 from my house

So given the IP address belongs to Comcast, spectrum will routinely refuse to accept mail for transmission unless it is submitted via their web mail system. That has been their policy since they were charter
I have been fielding questions from spectrum/RoadRunner/Charter customers now for decades based on the same sad tale. Their provider blocks access to email while folk are on holiday and when they ring for support they fob them off blaming their mail client (they do not support mail clients, so it is a quick resolution that looks good is the corporate statistics), Thunderbird, em, outlook, apple mail or spark. It makes no difference their support is just routinely that bad and their error reporting system offers almost zero friendly information as to what the problem is.
If you have a gmail account. It is generally possible to use Googles servers to send limited amounts of mail using another email address (like charter), but you have to set it up in Google before using it.
The emails will go if I do not connect to my wifi. The wifi I have gets the new messages, but will not send one. If I get off my wifi I can send it. Same thing on my iphone. An email I try to send using my wifi ends up in the outbox without going, Then when I get off my wifi it goes automatically.
Is your WIFI supplied by spectrum? I guess not.
I got it a few weeks ago from Xfinity. I might not have it connected properly but I do not know if it is ok or if I have to set ot up somehow.
