Connectivity and Profile questions

For over a year, my browser occasionally loses connectivity. It may work for 3 hours or 3 days, but inevitably new tabs will stop working and then slowly the others will stop as well. When this happens, none of my other browsers are impacted. They work fine. It is only Firefox. The only solution is to close everything and lose all my work.

Once I do that and restart Firefox, I receive an error message telling me I am using an older version of Firefox that is not compatible with my profile. The only solution that brings me back to the best starting place is to re-install Firefox.

My company IT spent 3 days trying to find the problem and couldn't. I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times. All extensions are turned off, as are the two add-ons. I have been using Firefox for over a decade and prefer it to all other browsers, but I need to find a solution or I am going to have to move on. Help!!!

Check if it's running in compatibility mode. Right-click its shortcut/executable file, select Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. If "Run this program in compatibility mode for" is checked, it is active. Turn it off by unchecking the box and clicking Apply.

It is not running in compatibility mode.

Work or personal computer? Windows home or pro? If personal, what security software are you running? Laptop, desktop, or DIY? If not DIY, what make and model?

Work Microsoft Windows 11 Pro version 24H2 (but it started before the switch to 11) Dell Pro 14 Plus PB14250

Work... Can you verify that drivers are current. https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-us/product/dell-pro-pb14250-2-in-1-laptop/drivers

From Intel, but may need admin access for this --> https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

You can also boot windows into safe mode with networking and test. You may need admin access, but try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) to see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

Also, connectivity is handled by windows, so it could be a bad port if you're plugged into the LAN and may need to try another desk. If you're on wifi, try plugging the laptop in.
