firefox locks up and or does not open a website

When I click to open a new tab it does not go to my home page, It does not go to a saved favorite, I cannot even go anywhere. I close Firefox and reopen it will open and then I can can surf the internet.

Did you try reinstalling Firefox?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Yes. Still doesn't fix it. I have to close the browser and reopen it for it to work.
