So on the plus side, YouTube works!
For media on other sites, could you check whether they want to use the Flash player plugin and need your permission? This article describes how that works if you are new to the "click to play" feature:
Why do I have to click to activate plugins?
If you do not see a plugin notification icon on those sites, then there probably is some other problem. In order to help diagnose that, could you go to this page on YouTube and report any boxes that are red?
