DELE command error message.
I am downloading emails but when I get to an email from a certain correspondent, with a large file(s) or PDF(s) attached, the downloading crashes with the following error message:- "The DELE command did not succeed. Error marking a message as deleted. Mail server pop.1und1.de responded: 10s3jCw06RbbTodyx/ffu5r" (see also attached partial screenshot)
I then press F5 to restart the downloading process, which seems to run OK, but when I open the email that I suspect caused the crash, I find that the basic email reads OK, but one or more of the attachments is corrupted in some way. Note that attachments from other correspondents don't seem to do this - why does it always seem to happen when I get large attachments sent by this one correspondent? He says that I seem to be the only person who gets this trouble when sends out these attachments to more than one person!
Recently a restart crashed again at the first attempt, with a RETR error message! However a 2nd restart did succeed, but still with the attachments corrupted.

Have you tried disabling email scanning in your anti virus product of choice?
Not a virus problem. I can't receive any emails. I keep getting that error message.

So did you disable your emails scanner. What was it yesterday, today I have all these cryptic answers that do not answer. Perhaps it is just me.
