When I try to open firefox a large number of pages open I think it might be a virus
Ok I hope you wont mind honesty. I was trying to open a porn video and a flash notice popped on the screen and simultainiously pages and pages started opening. So I did an emergency shut down of the computer. Today when I tried to open firefox it was still there.

It sounds like you have Firefox set to open your windows and tabs when you re-open Firefox.
Let's try to fix this thoroughly so you don't have future problems:
- Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware, run these scanners
- Start Firefox up in Safe Mode, do you still have all these extra windows? Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox, try to close the windows and tabs.
- If Safe Mode fails, reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Install https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock to prevent future ads and pop-ups.
- Make sure you have a good anti-virus installed. If you don't, I'd suggest http://windows.microsoft.com/windows/security-essentials-download
