This is my first time on this site, so I'm not sure how to ask a question, and I'm asking it here. [初めてこのサイトに来たので、どの様に質問すればいいか良くわからず、ここで質問させて頂きます。]

To put it simply, the problem is that "the cause of my PC's malfunction might be related to image files created using Firefox's screenshot function." [結論から言えば「pcが故障した原因が、Firefoxのスクショ機能で作った画像ファイルの影響かもしれない」という問題です。]

Recently, when I copied and moved data to an external HDD for backup purposes, some data failed to transfer. [先日、外付けのＨＤＤにバックアップの為に、データをコピー＆移動した際に、一部のデータだけ移動できてない事態が発生しました。]

I realized that the screenshot images I had created with Firefox a while ago were the cause of the failure. Two days after creating the backup, when I tried to start my PC, a black screen with white text saying "A problem occurred and the PC could not start" appeared. [そこで昔Firefoxで作ったスクショ画像が移動できない原因だと気付いたのですが、バックアップを作った2日後からpcを起動しようとすると、黒い画面に白い文字で「問題が発生した為、起動できませんでした」と出る様になりました。]

I tried various things with the support of the PC manufacturer, but the PC is now intermittently starting up, sometimes working and sometimes not, and it seems the PC has malfunctioned. [製造元のpc会社のサポートを受けながら様々な手を尽くしたのですが、pcの電源を入れる度に起動できたりできなかったりする症状となり、pcが故障してしまった様なのです。]

At this point, I was thinking, "Did connecting the HDD cause the malfunction?" [この時点で私は「ＨＤＤを接続したのが故障の原因？」と考えていました。]

I was about to send the PC to the manufacturer for repair, and while creating a new backup, I noticed, "I can't delete these screenshot images, and I can't change the file names either?" [pc会社にpcを送って修理してもらおうと思い、新しくバックアップを確保する作業中に「このスクショ画像、削除できないしファイル名も変更できない？」と気付いたのです。]

Apparently, Firefox's screenshot function is designed to forcibly save files even if they contain characters that cannot be used in the filename or have an impossible number of characters.

As a result, I suspect, as a layperson, that this may have caused my PC to malfunction. [どうやらファイル名に使用できない文字と不可能な文字数でも、Firefoxスクショ機能では無理やり保存する様にできているらしいのです。 その結果、pcの故障が起こったのではないか？と素人ながら私は考えました。]

Frighteningly, this screenshot image can only be copied, and a mysterious, unidentifiable image file that cannot be deleted, moved, or renamed has already been copied to my HDD. I can't delete it even if I want to, and I don't know what will happen if I do. [恐ろしい事にこのスクショ画像はコピーだけはできる様で、ＨＤＤには既に「削除・移動・ファイル名変更が不可能な得体の知れない不気味な画像ファイル」がコピーされており、消したくても消せないし、消したら何が起こるか分からない状況なのです。]

I'm so scared I can't sleep, and my cold symptoms have worsened. [怖くて眠れず風邪の症状が悪化しました。]

If this is the cause of the malfunction, I think I should immediately share this information with everyone and ask for help, which is why I'm asking this question here. [もしもこれが故障の原因ならすぐに皆さんに情報共有し、助けを求めるべきではないかと考え、今回ここに質問させて頂きます。]

I plan to send my PC to the manufacturer soon to have it professionally resolved. [近日中にpcは製造会社に送り、プロの手で解決して頂く予定です。]

However, the HDD is from a different company, and the warranty has expired, so I don't think I can ask them to delete the images. [しかしＨＤＤは違う会社だし、保証期間も過ぎてるので、画像の削除は頼めそうにありません。]

If it's not too much trouble, I would be grateful if you could tell me how to delete the screenshots on the HDD. [差し支えなければＨＤＤにあるスクショ画像の削除のやり方など教えて頂ければ幸いです。]

(I tried deleting them with 7-Zip, but it responded that it could only read the images on the HDD, not delete them.) [(7-Zipで削除する方法は試しましたが、ＨＤＤの画像は読み取りだけで削除はできないと反応されました)]

i don't think you can you've fallen into the secure everything at the cost of your consumers going top Google chrome or Brave or etc just not firefox. It used to be my fav not any more congrats on your fuck up

After updating to version 158.0 of Firefox for iOS, absolutely no images load within the app. My iOS version is 26.4.1, and I am not able to update my iOS version to anything newer.

When I open the link from my text messages and it opens in the Firefox browser no images show no matter what I do or try to do. I want the images to show so I know what item I am selecting companies have similar looking items and if I don’t know the exact name, I may select the wrong one.

Firefox icon issue

There are two websites. On my PC, one of them displays its icons correctly everywhere: on tabs, in Firefox Suggest, and in the browsing history. However, the other website only displays its icon on tabs.

On my phone, the situation is reversed: the website that displays its icons correctly on my PC doesn't show them on my phone, while the website whose icon only appears on tabs on my PC displays its icons correctly on my phone.

I've tried various solutions on my PC, including removing the website from my browsing history and creating a new favicon file, but the problem persists.

images not showing/populating??

Since Firefox updated to 158.0 today, I can no longer drag images or screenshots from my desktop into web pages (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.). It worked fine on 157.0.1. Still broken in Troubleshoot Mode, so it’s not an extension. Pasting and the upload button still work. macOS, Apple Silicon.

Win 11 Home 26H2 26300.9550 and Firefox 157.0 or higher.

This problem exists for me, in FF 157.0, FF 157.0.1, and FF 159.0a1

Never saw this issue before FF 157.0

I 'always' save my edited images to my desktop, prior to uploading them to a website. Doesn't matter what image editor I use.

MY problem is "uploading" those images to TenForums and ElevenForum. The upload dialog, before FF 157.0, would always look on the desktop for the image I wanted to upload.

Since FF 157.0... if I save anything to any drive, and then try to upload an image to a website like ElevenForum, the upload dialog will look for the image(s) on whatever drive I saved something to.

Workaround: I restart Firefox AND browse once to my desktop, where the image is located. Then it looks on my desktop every time for images I want to upload... ...UNTIL I save anything to any partition on my drives, then MY problem returns.

I see this problem when uploading images to elevenforum.com and tenforums.com Drag & Drop (in 11Forum), works fine, probably because when I drag & drop I'm declaring the file path automatically. I only see the problem in... Attach > and the upload dialog

This is very hard to explain. I export my bookmarks to F:\Bookmarks After doing that, instead of looking on my desktop where the images are, it looks for them in F:\Bookmarks.

If I save anything (like a text file), on any drive/partition... when I try to upload an image on my desktop to ElevenForum.com the upload dialog doesn't look for the image on my desktop.

I don't see this issue on FF 156.0.1 or any version before FF 157.0

When uploading photos, Firefox is not Showing the last folder used. Normally, when uploading a photo from a certain folder, the next time you do that, the same folder shows up unless you choose a different one. Now, it keeps going to one specific folder even though I uploaded from a different folder previously.

Example: say I uploaded a photo from my folder "sympathy pics". Then I upload a photo from "my documents". The next upload pop-up box still pops up the "sympathy pics" folder when it should bring up "my documents".

Can someone please help me?

I have these kind of icon artifact on google maps for long time now, even with the latest 157.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10

Seen it on other domains too that uses gmaps.

Videos and HW acceleration seems to work fine even with 1080p videos.

what can cause them?

so i used the web app from the firefox nightly adn when installed yt from it , the icon from it was very blurry which appeared on the taskbar , any fix for it , i have also added a comparison image from the brave which is on the left and firefox nightly 159 on the right

I have an issue with this website for some reason it won't display images of the products link text I tried messing up with the settings and nothing seemed to work can you help me please

Hello, When going on Gumtree the website opens but the add photos do not show photos, just blank tiles, just like on the photo file attached. I tried several data and cache cleaning, nothing works. It happens to all devices using wi-fi connection. On mobile phone using data it is OK. Parental controls for wi-fi connected devices are turned off. What else to do? Thanks much.

2 days ago QR-codes stopped to show when I use Firefox, I still get the codes if I use Safari or other browsers. Please help me, because I love using Firefox... Regards Uffe

I've noticed that whenever I add images to sites like X, Telegram, etc. while using Firefox, the colors come out really washed out/de-saturated.

Tested it out with Edge and the colors look as they should (see attached image, left is Firefox and right is Edge as seen in X). This occurs only with screenshots (using Windows Snipping tools and other screenshot tools) and not with any other kind of image.

I'm using a Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 and a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro, HDR is off for Windows and the snipping tool. AFAIK I don't have any other color management settings turned on.
