Why does DocQ say my browser is unsupported and that I need Firefox 3. Which one do I have?

I just signed up for DocQ on ramp to scan and fill out forms. registration and log in seemed to work OK but then I got the no-support your browser window advising me to download Firefox3, I seem to have 23, so I'm kind of in the dark!?! Best regards; Paul

The DocQ site only seems to work with Firefox 18 or lower (Firefox 19 give a warning bar at the top)

You can override the user agent for a domain to make it see a specific Firefox XX version (in this case Firefox 18).

You can open the about:config page and create a new String pref via the right-click context menu

You can toggle site specific overrides on/off via the general.useragent.site_specific_overrides pref.

If the website still doesn't work properly then you can try the Firefox 18 portable version.

The portable version comes with its own profile folder and doesn't interfere with the currently installed release version.

One possibility is a flaw in the site's browser detection script. Is there a public page (no login required) that gives the same error? A volunteer could take a look.

Firefox also has a feature allowing you to lie to particular websites about your Firefox version. This takes a little work to set up, though, so let's try to identify the problem more precisely first.

Also could be an old script that doesn't recognize a 2 digit Firefox version number and sees Firefox 23 as Firefox 2. We had a number problems like this when Firefox 10 was released.

The site works OK even with that banner at the top. Love you guys and Firefox! Thanks loads! Paul Mattson
