Need help recovering lost bookmarks from a backup

My brother was on my computer and did something with firefox and lost all of my bookmarks+data. I saw the saved firefox data on the desktop. There is a folder called bookmarkbackups but when I tried to restore the most recent dated one which is bookmarks-2013-06-16.json. I don't know why but theres like dates from June 7 - June 16. I've tried to restore by using them but it says that it is unable to. So, I thought it might be corrupted or something. Is there any way to fix this?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
