Some unknown bug always resets homepage to babylon.com.Have tried reinstalling FF,Norton AV scans, resetting about:config, yet it recurs. Pl Help
I have tried uninstall & re-installing FF after deleting all the folders in the program files relating to FF
I tried to reset the setting via about:config but it was only temporary. the problem again and again reset my homepage, tampered with my setting etc.
I tried the suggestions in the forum link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/773310, like changing the HKEY etc.but all work only temporarily.
I did NORTON AV scan in normal and SAFE mode, but the NORTON scan was useless and unable to detect and eliminate the bug that is causing this behavior.
So if anyone can suggest a LASTING solution, it will be great. Thanks.

hello, go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information. in there click on the "show folder" button next to profile directory - a new explorer window which is containing your firefox profile should open up. then close all open firefox windows and rename the user.js file in the profile folder to something like olduser.js.
Thanks for your reply. But the problem is not saving of the profile changes. Actually the user profile changes i do, DO get saved. For a while i do get my old settings up and running.
But however, after a few days, my settings are again reset to the ones reset by the bot to:
Homepage: babylon.com, and several other changes....
The company's official instructions point only to (1) removing extensions and (2) removing the search engine plugin (see Babylon FAQ). It appears you have already removed the extensions.
Do you have any other Babylon software on your PC? You could try a global search for Babylon to see whether any obvious candidates appear.
