how to reload bookmarks from a data recovery after bad hard drive?

My hard drive crashed and had to be replaced. I got most of my data recovered, but my bookmarks are only in a file called Favorites as internet shortcuts on my backup. The Mozilla profiles and sglite files did not make it. How can I move those bookmark files back into my Firefox? I am using Windows 7 if it makes a difference.

Hi mwpamela,

You might want to take a look at the Knowledge Base article Restore bookmarks, passwords and data from an old Firefox profile. There is a lot of information in there that might be helpful in your situation.

Firefox can't handle the Favorites internet shortcuts. You need to get that data into IE and then Export in HTML format to have it in a format which Firefox can deal with.
