I am guessing you previously used Internet Explorer. Note Firefox uses the term Bookmarks rather than favourites/favorites.

It is easy to import Internet Explorer favourites into Firefox see:

If you lost the bookmarks after updating Firefox then a possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
