Will not apply v. 1.8 update. Question I am having a problem updating Firefox. I have Firefox 4.0, Yahoo Version. I have been notified by ebay that I am using an outdated version. When I click on help, about Firefox I get the message that an update is being downloaded (v.1.8). When I click Apply Update, Firefox closes and a popup box appears with the message saying that it's attempting to contact the update server but never does and the upate is never installed. What do I need to do?

Get rid of that Yahoo 1.8 version of Firefox. Download and install the official version of Firefox.
