While updating Firefox it somehow went to "work offline." I cannot get Firefox as my browser unless I go through Explorer first. How do I correct this? Also I lost my "favorites" when I tried to update.

When I try to get online clicking my icon, I get a box that states "Firefox is currently in offline mode and cannot browse the web. Uncheck the 'work offline' menu item, and then try again."

Also I lost my favorites list and cannot retrieve it.

Did you try to toggle File > Work Offline to see if that helps.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
