Cannot disable dark mode
I know this has been asked before but all I see are different answers every time and none of them seem to actually work. After the latest update (4 March 22) suddenly pages that have always been black text on white background are now showing in what looks like dark mode. I have vision impairment and now I can't even see these pages properly without considerable difficulty. I can't go on using Firefox like this and no provision seems to have been made for people who don't actually WANT everything changed on them. Can't I just go back to the way it was? I tried disabling dark themes, tried all these fixes, nothing seems to work. Tried Colours under Languages and Appearance, I can get it at least black-on-white but now all the menu and options colour settings have been lost. All I want is for Firefox to display the themes/modes I set and not second-guess me and set something I didn't. It's utterly ludicrous that you actually set it to disable dark modes but FF forces them on you anyway. Not everyone has the eyes of a young fit person in perfect health. I just want it like it was before... or like I actually SET IT... how come that's so hard? What's going on here? Do I have to abandon Firefox just to not be stuck with an unwanted "feature" that is making it uncomfortable and difficult to even see the d... thing? Why should it take all this "try this, try that, did it work? No again, huh? Well *try* this..." with obscure custom settings that the average user can't understand, just to get a basic display like we've had for decades? At the very least how can I re-install an older version that isn't stuck with this design fail? It's frustrating that I can't finish what I needed to do online because I can't actually SEE the pages I need now and my only option is to go to a completely different browser! Come on, I just want it like it was one day ago... too hard?

You can select a theme that has dark text on the tabs (toolbars) if you currently use a theme with light text.
You can change this pref on the about:config page from 3 to 2 to revert to the Firefox 94 behavior regarding to prefer dark or light background for webpages.
- layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override [dark:0, light:1, system:2, browser:3]
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
I did this (which I should not have had to do, given about:config is not fully supported!) Only partially effective. Bookmarks still white on black. Read somewhere in help that I should go to ui. something something something. No explanation where to find this or how to do it. (Was NOT in about:config). Read somewhere else to change theme from white print on dark to dark on white. Did this (which I should NOT be forced to do--I quite liked the theme I was using), which fixed bookmarks. Now the search box & drop down are white on black. What do I have to do to fix THAT? One, this whole change seems stupid & pointless, but hey, that's not unusual with updates... Two, why on earth is it so incredibly difficult--to the point of impossibility!--to UNDO this stupid, unnecessary, unwanted change? Three, I ran into this problem when I updated to FF98--but I see people have been having this problem since at least FF95. What does it take to get this fixed? Four, although I have been using Firefox for years, and I like it a lot, I am not impressed with this latest fiasco. There are lots of other browsers out there, & it may just be time to start checking them out...
