You can use OS authentication (PIN or fingerprint) instead of the primary/master password, but this means that the passwords aren't protected like when using the PP.

You can set signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled = true on the about:config page to enable this feature if you want to try it out.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
