Right after newest firefox update to my laptop, monitor went blank. How to get monitor back so I can customize firefox?

Right after newest firefox update to MY LAPTOP, monitor went blank (black). How to get monitor back so I can customize firefox? No-one seems to be able to realize that, if my monitor is blank, how can I access anything? Thanks very much if you can help.

This computer I'm using right now to find a solution is MY DESKTOP computer - it is fine so far with the new update.

Hi frannie-1, I assume you found a solution to this by now.

I can't think of a good reason for the monitor to go blank as a result of restarting Firefox. If your laptop has a "Windows" key, in that situation, I would try Windows + D to show the desktop and see whether that is visible and lets you manage applications a little more normally. Your laptop also might have Fn buttons related to external displays. One of those might help??
