Thunderbird does not open on new laptop using settings from prev laptop

I have followed the video and done the copy paste verbatim (many times). I have uninstalled Thunderbird many times. When i first installed Thunderbird it opens fine. When i go through the process and copy the Thunderbird settings file and then re-open the program it never does. I see Thunderbird in task manager and the usage does move but never opens. Total Thunderbird size on existing laptop is 1.49 Gb. Thanks for any assistance.

I will reply to my own question. After much trial and error instead of deleting old profile i added new profile on top of and it seems to work. no idea why except there may be a file in the new T bird that was needed?
